Growing up in a sporty family, I never had much of an option other than to always be physically active, playing sport and being outdoors, and it could not have been more of a blessing in my life. The benefits of being active for physical, emotion and spiritual wellbeing is well documented, however my upbringing has lead me to my passion in life and my career as a Biokineticist. As far as I can remember I have always wanted to help people, and to be able to use my love for physical activity and my passion for people to help improve and influence their lives, brings me such joy and sense of accomplishment.

I obtained my Honours degree in Biokinetics from the University of Pretoria with distinction in 2010- BA (HMS)(Hons) Biokinetics. I was the only student appointed as an intern for the University’s practice in 2011. Through my hard work ethics and passion for my patients, I carved out a position for myself at the practice and eventually worked my way up the appointment of practice manager. This experience was invaluable to me, as it created the base for me to advance my skill set, be involved with research, and work with a variety of patients from high performance athletes to non-communicable disease management and many more. My love for teaching was further cultivated as I was involved in the Biokinetics and Sport Science department with lecturing and practical experience for both the undergraduate and postgraduate students.
